The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) on Wednesday organised a high-level closed-door luncheon with US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor during the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
According to an official release, discussions at the gathering centred on strengthening US-India strategic and defence cooperation, recent progress on trade, building resilient supply chains, establishing secure digital corridors, and expanding collaboration in energy and commerce.
The luncheon was chaired by Shantanu Narayen, Vice Chair of USISPF and Chair and CEO of Adobe. It brought together prominent industry leaders, including Brad Smith of Microsoft; Hemant Taneja of General Catalyst; Maeve Culloty of HPE Financial Services; Sachit Ahuja of Tillman Global Holdings; Bipul Sinha of Rubrik; Umesh Sachdev of Uniphore; Raj Koneru; Salil Parekh of Infosys; Sumant Sinha of ReNew; Balkrishna Goenka of Welspun World; Manoj Menda of RMZ; and Aparna Bawa of Zoom.
Senior representatives from member companies such as Aditya Birla Group, Essar, HCL Tech, Mastercard and Google also participated in the interaction.
Sharing his experience on X, Ambassador Gor described the exchange as a productive conversation with leaders from over 50 companies, including Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon, Mastercard, General Catalyst, Lockheed Martin and Boeing. He noted that the discussions focused on American leadership in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and innovation, and thanked USISPF for hosting the engagement.
Hemant Taneja highlighted India’s growing potential in AI, stating that the convergence of talent, infrastructure and policy ambition presents a transformative opportunity. He expressed confidence in India’s growth trajectory and underlined the importance of the US-India partnership in driving the next phase of global expansion, particularly as AI reshapes industries.
In his opening remarks, Narayen stressed the need for sustained collaboration between governments and the private sector to promote responsible and trustworthy AI. He observed that while India contributes scale, digital public infrastructure and a dynamic startup ecosystem, the United States offers advanced research capabilities, deep capital markets and leadership in computing and semiconductor technologies. Together, he said, the two nations can leverage AI to address major global challenges and create broad-based economic and social benefits.
Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of USISPF, commended Ambassador Gor for his role in advancing the US-India trade agreement, describing his early tenure as impactful. He added that the appointment signalled strong intent from Washington to deepen strategic and commercial ties with India.

USISPF, an official partner of the India AI Impact Summit in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, is leading the largest-ever US industry delegation to India. The delegation comprises more than 120 CEOs and senior global executives, reflecting the growing momentum in cooperation between the two countries in artificial intelligence, trusted technology ecosystems and next-generation digital infrastructure.
