Kausar Jahan is the second woman in Delhi’s history to be appointed as the Chairperson of the Delhi Hajj Committee. She was elected to this position in February 2023.
She is a personality with a strong public connection. Warmth and empathy are integral to her nature. She can communicate with ordinary people in their own language, while also engaging confidently and gracefully with Delhi’s distinguished circles.
Kausar Jahan was born into a family that is often perceived as affluent and influential. However, the reality is that she has faced severe trials in life.

During the intense wave of the pandemic last year, she lost both her parents. Circumstances changed abruptly. Not only did she lose her personal support system, but the family business also suffered heavily, already strained by economic pressures.
It is truly commendable that in the face of such a painful tragedy, she gathered herself and chose to move forward with greater resilience and determination.
Her mother, Begum Fatima Hussain, belonged to a respected aristocratic family. Her great-grandfather, Nawab Fakhr ul Mulk Bahadur, was a prominent Shia noble in Hyderabad during the Nizam era.
On her father’s side, she comes from a family that has produced senior civil servants, educationists, and individuals who have held important political responsibilities.

She acknowledges her pride in this distinguished background, yet firmly believes that in today’s world, the present matters most. A person is known by their current conduct and their service to society. Deeds alone are the true measure.
She has travelled to many countries and had opportunities to settle abroad, yet her heart has always remained with her motherland.
Besides being a social worker, Kausar Jahan is also an entrepreneur. She has had a long association with Sampoorna, an organisation dedicated to women’s empowerment. Recently, she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, which she describes as a golden, even saffron, opportunity.A blessed evening at the Dawat-e - Iftar hosted by Chairperson of Delhi Haj Committee, @Kausarjahan213
