Dr. Abbas Naqvi is not known only for his medical expertise but also for his deep compassion and human touch. He represents the rare breed of doctors who see their profession as a means to serve society and not merely a career.
In 2004, Dr. Naqvi founded Ramakrishna Hospital, which has grown into one of Chhattisgarh’s leading multi-specialty hospitals. Currently, he serves as the Director and Consultant in the Medicine Department.
Patients see him not just as a skilled physician, but as a sensitive human being committed to their well-being.
Born and raised in Raipur, Dr. Naqvi developed an early interest in medical sciences.
After completing his medical education and further specialization, he chose to return to his hometown, prioritizing his community over opportunities in larger cities. For him, true contribution lies in working for one’s own city and society.
Dr. Naqvi treats thousands of patients every day, balancing modern medical technology with empathy and compassion.
During consultations, he instills confidence and reassurance in both patients and their families. He has always kept his doors open for underprivileged patients, ensuring that financial constraints do not limit access to quality healthcare.
Beyond patient care, Dr. Naqvi actively participates in social initiatives, including health camps, blood donation drives, and public awareness campaigns. His efforts were particularly notable during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he tirelessly worked day and night to provide care and save lives, earning widespread appreciation.
For his contributions, Dr. Naqvi has received numerous awards and recognitions from social organizations, yet he considers the smile of a patient as the greatest reward.
He firmly believes that a doctor’s true duty is not only to treat illness but also to uphold humanity. Each patient leaving his clinic carries not just medicine but hope and trust, he says.
Dr. Naqvi began his medical career in 1995 after working at the prestigious Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai. Despite opportunities in the Gulf and Western countries, he returned to Raipur, honoring his mother’s wishes and staying connected to his roots.
He started with a small clinic and, in 1998, established Aastha Nursing Home. Thanks to affordable and patient-centric services, this nursing home became the first choice for many, leaving a lasting impression in the community.
Over the years, Dr. Naqvi has received several awards from society and the medical fraternity, reflecting his dedication and empathy toward patients.
He believes that illness affects not just the body, but also the mind and society. When a doctor genuinely helps a patient, half the battle against the disease is already won.
One of the biggest challenges he faces is the rising cost of medical care. He continuously strives to ensure that people from all economic backgrounds have access to affordable and quality healthcare.
His leadership qualities were evident from his medical college days at Raipur Medical College, where he held positions such as Secretary and President, later becoming the head of the Junior Doctors’ Association.
Dr. Naqvi often treats economically disadvantaged patients at minimal or even no cost, earning profound trust across social strata. Old residents of Raipur still fondly recall the Aastha Nursing Home, established in 1998, as a sanctuary of affordable and humane medical care.
Born into a traditional family in Raipur, Dr. Naqvi demonstrated a strong inclination toward service and academics from an early age. After completing his medical degree, he underwent advanced training at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai, where the experience further shaped his professional approach.
