D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, widely recognised for his performance in Reservation Dogs, has secured a significant role in Netflix’s upcoming Australian drama series Breakers. The show features a strong ensemble cast including Antony Starr, Oliver Edis, and Annabel Wolfe.
Starr, known for his acclaimed roles in The Boys and Banshee, is not only starring in the series but is also attached as an executive producer. He will portray the character Brando, a central figure in the story.
Woon-A-Tai will appear as Elliott, a reserved teenager from Rhode Island who travels to Australia ahead of adulthood. His journey takes him to a coastal commune, where he becomes immersed in an unfamiliar world shaped by surf culture and complex relationships. Edis and Wolfe will play Flynn and Harper, respectively.
The supporting cast includes Asher Yasbincek, David Howell, Tyroe Muhafidin, Tom Dawson, Sherry-Lee Watson, Lu Miller, Eliza Learmonth, and Brodie Townsend, adding further depth to the series’ character lineup.

Filming for Breakers is currently underway in Western Australia. The story follows two close friends who set out on a backpacking trip and encounter a seemingly idyllic surfing community led by a charismatic yet enigmatic leader.
The series is being directed by Mary Nighy and Ng Choon Ping, with Nick Pitt serving as producer. With its coming-of-age themes and mysterious undertones, Breakers is expected to explore friendship, identity, and the allure of belonging.
