Storyteller and musician Neelesh Misra has unveiled “Zameen Pe Taare”, the opening track from his forthcoming independent album of the same name, marking his second solo venture as a singer-songwriter.
Released on March 17, the song is entirely penned, composed, and performed by Misra, with music production handled by Mohit Shankar. It is now available for streaming on platforms including Spotify, JioSaavn, Gaana, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and on Misra’s official YouTube channel.
“Zameen Pe Taare” offers a reflective take on love and gentle separation, using imagery of fallen stars, scattered hues, and a river that has lost its banks to chart the subtle evolution of a relationship over time. Rather than expressing anger or blame, the song dwells in the quiet spaces — the unspoken words and moments that quietly slipped away.
A music video accompanying the track, directed by Ritam Nandy and produced by Saumya Tandon, features Misra alongside co-actor Roshani Rawat, with cinematography by Abhishek Verma and editing by Bhuvan Chaudhary.
Misra’s debut independent album, “Phir Milenge”, had marked his shift from celebrated Bollywood lyricist and radio storyteller to independent recording artist. He is widely recognised for reinvigorating Hindi storytelling on radio through shows like “Yaadon Ka Idiot Box” on BIG FM, where his fictional town Yaad Sheher became a touchstone for millions of listeners, and “Kahaani Express”.
In Bollywood, Misra’s songwriting credits include hits such as “Jaadu Hai Nasha Hai” from Jism, “I Love You” from Bodyguard, “Kuch Toh Bata Zindagi” from Bajrangi Bhaijaan, “Abhi Kuch Dino Se” from Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, “Maine Dil Se Kaha” from Rog, and “Thode Se Kam Ajnabee” from Pagglait.
