Putting an end to months of speculation, actor Shahid Kapoor has finally confirmed that the much-awaited second season of Farzi is officially underway. The announcement comes nearly three years after the first season premiered and quickly became one of India’s most talked-about web series.
Shahid broke the news on Tuesday through his Instagram Stories, instantly exciting fans. He shared a photo featuring himself with series creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., popularly known as Raj & DK, who helm the show as its creators, directors and producers. Alongside the image, Shahid wrote a cryptic but celebratory line: “The fakers are back at it.”
Soon after, Raj & DK also hinted at the show’s return. The duo posted an image of stacked currency notes on their Instagram handle with the caption “Round 2 in progress,” further confirming that work on the new season has begun.

Earlier, Shahid had spoken candidly about why the sequel was taking time. Explaining the lengthy process, he said that large-scale shows like Farzi involve extensive post-production work, including dubbing in 35–40 languages and releasing the series in nearly 200 countries. He added that once filming wraps up, it usually takes about a year before the show is ready for release.

The series followed the journey of Sunny, a small-time artist who drifts into the dangerous world of counterfeiting, only to find himself locked in a high-stakes battle with a sharp and unorthodox task force officer determined to stop him.
With season two now confirmed, expectations are high for the return of the gripping cat-and-mouse drama that captivated audiences across the country.
