A growing number of English-language books on the life, character, leadership and legacy of Prophet Muhammad have appeared in recent years, offering readers perspectives that range from traditional Seerah scholarship to contemporary studies of leadership, spirituality, conflict and social transformation.

Among the notable recent works is The Seerah of the Prophet: A Contemporary and Original Analysis by Yasir Qadhi, published in a revised English edition in 2024.

The comprehensive work combines classical Seerah sources with contemporary analysis and examines the major events and personalities surrounding the Prophet's life.

Who Is Muhammad? by Michael Muhammad Knight, published in 2023 by the University of North Carolina Press, offers a concise and scholarly introduction to Muhammad's life, teachings and practices. The book also explores the diverse ways in which the Prophet has been understood and interpreted across different communities.

Meeting Muhammad by Omar Suleiman, published in 2022, takes a more personal approach to the Seerah. It focuses on the Prophet's character, personality and relationships with his companions and followers, highlighting qualities that continue to resonate with contemporary readers.

The Prophet's approach to warfare and leadership is examined in two books by Joel Hayward. His The Warrior Prophet: Muhammad and War, published in 2022, explores Muhammad's military leadership and approach to warfare and conflict.

His earlier work, The Leadership of Muhammad (2021), examines the Prophet as a political, social and military leader.

Muhammad the World-Changer: An Intimate Portrait by Mohamad Jebara, published in 2021, presents a modern narrative portrait of the Prophet, focusing on his personality, relationships and transformative influence on society.

Another recent English-language work is Miracles of the Prophet Muhammad: Gems from The Shifa, based on the classical work Al-Shifa by Qadi Iyad. The English edition presents material concerning the Prophet's qualities, virtues and miracles for contemporary readers.

 

Life of Muhammad: Wisdom and Spiritual Legacy of the Prophet by Wahiduddin Khan, published in 2023, approaches the Seerah through themes of spirituality, peace, interfaith relations and the continuing relevance of the Prophet's message.

Seerah Sayyidul Ambiyaa: Life Story of Prophet Muhammad by Muhammad Ali Bin Zubair Ali, published in 2024, offers a relatively concise account of the Prophet's life from his birth to his death. The book is aimed at readers seeking an accessible introduction to the Seerah and has also been used in educational settings.

Among the more historically significant recent English publications is Maghazi of Sayyiduna Muhammad by Musa ibn Uqbah, published in English in 2024.

The work represents an English translation of one of the earliest surviving traditions of literature dealing with the Prophet's military expeditions and is particularly relevant to readers interested in the development of early Seerah literature.
