Vijayawada
The Bharatiya Janata Party organised a celebratory rally in Vijayawada on Tuesday under the leadership of Andhra Pradesh BJP president PVN Madhav after the party’s electoral victories in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
The procession commenced from Bhavanipuram and saw participation from party leaders, workers and supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Madhav said voters across the country had once again endorsed the BJP’s governance and leadership, adding that the mandate reflected growing faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development-focused politics.
Describing the West Bengal result as historic, he said the verdict marked a major political shift in the state and recalled that it was the land of Syama Prasad Mukherjee, where the Jana Sangh had begun its electoral journey with a single seat.
He said the NDA’s presence in nearly 20 states under Modi’s leadership demonstrates the public’s confidence in the alliance’s governance model and development agenda.
Madhav also termed the victories in Assam and Puducherry significant, crediting local leadership and organisational strength for the party’s performance.
He claimed the election outcomes had challenged the long-held perception that minority communities do not support the BJP, pointing to the party’s success in constituencies with sizeable minority populations.
Referring to the political developments in Tamil Nadu, Madhav welcomed the electoral rise of actor-politician Vijay and said the results indicated that voters were favouring transparent and principled leadership.
He credited Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national general secretary Sunil Bansal and grassroots party workers for the party’s success across multiple states.
Madhav further alleged that previous governments in West Bengal were marked by lawlessness, infiltration and political violence, and said growing public awareness had helped the BJP make major inroads in the state.
He added that the strong voter turnout reflected a clear desire for political change and expressed confidence that the BJP would deliver stable and effective governance.
