Kuldeep Singh, who recently took charge as Inspector General (IG) of the Border Security Force’s Guwahati Frontier, has underlined that robust and coordinated border management is crucial to reducing criminal activities along the India–Bangladesh border.
Assuming office on Wednesday, Singh said the BSF will continue efforts to strengthen security measures while ensuring that residents of border regions feel safe and protected. He stressed that building harmonious relations between India’s security personnel and their Bangladeshi counterparts remains important for ensuring peace along the boundary.

A 1990-batch direct entry officer of the BSF, Singh brings extensive experience from operational, instructional and staff roles. His career includes key postings with the National Security Guard (NSG) and participation in the UN Mission in Kosovo. He has also served as an instructor at the BSF Academy and is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.
