Nagpur
The Indian National Congress and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi staged a protest in Nagpur on Monday, demanding clarity from the Centre over the so-called “Epstein Files” and criticising its stance on the ongoing West Asia conflict.
The protest march began at Samvidhan Square and was intended to proceed to the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, but demonstrators halted at Morris College Square, where they raised slogans against the central government, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and the Sangh Parivar.
Addressing the gathering, Maharashtra Congress chief Harshwardhan Sapkal questioned the government’s silence on the issue, alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not responded to concerns surrounding the matter. He also criticised the government’s foreign policy approach, claiming it aligned too closely with the United States in the conflict involving Iran.
Meanwhile, Prakash Ambedkar said the protest was also aimed at seeking dialogue with the RSS on issues such as the India-US trade relationship and policies affecting farmers and public sector institutions.
Ambedkar further alleged that the country’s economic situation was deteriorating, pointing to concerns such as a weakening banking system and a falling rupee. He also questioned whether following the approach of US President Donald Trump aligned with national interests.

The protest leaders urged the RSS to take a position on these issues, arguing that it should act in the broader interest of the country.
