Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday launched works to replace overhead power lines with AB cables and flagged off 137 electric waste collection vehicles in her assembly constituency, Shalimar Bagh .
The work to replace the overhead power lines with aerial bunched (AB) cables was launched in several blocks of Shalimar Bagh, to ensure a safer, more reliable and uninterrupted power supply, Delhi CMO said in a post on X.
The insulated AB cables impart enhanced safety, reduce power loss and stop power theft. These also have longer life as compared to uninsulated conventional wires used in the electricity supply, it said.
