Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said no outside elements should be allowed to interfere in factory operations, warning that such disruption can harm industrial harmony and progress.

His remarks came in Lucknow two days after large-scale unrest in Noida, where thousands of factory workers protested for wage hikes and other demands. The agitation had turned violent in some areas, with arson, vandalism and stone pelting reported.

Speaking at an event marking the rollout of the one-millionth bus from the Tata Motors plant in Lucknow, Adityanath said the occasion marked a proud milestone after the company’s 34-year journey in the city.

“We must ensure that no outside elements are allowed to interfere in the internal matters of our factories or groups under any circumstances. Those who disrupt are many, but those who build are rare,” he said.

He added that institutions creating jobs, educating children and helping youth progress should be valued and supported.

Recalling the contribution of the Tata Group, the chief minister said it had helped thousands of families earn livelihoods and enabled young people to build careers with dignity.

He said gratitude toward such institutions strengthens both society and long-term development.

The event was attended by N. Chandrasekaran, Girish Wagh, Nand Gopal Gupta and Dayashankar Singh, among others.

Adityanath described the one-millionth commercial vehicle rollout as more than an industrial milestone, calling it a symbol of a new India and a new Uttar Pradesh emerging as a manufacturing hub.

He said more than 56 per cent of Uttar Pradesh’s workforce consists of youth, and the state is working to connect them with skills, innovation and technology in line with the vision of Narendra Modi.

He also highlighted improvements in infrastructure, including expressways and airports, saying they were accelerating industrial growth.

The chief minister praised Tata Motors for shifting toward cleaner technologies such as CNG and electric vehicles, as well as efforts in renewable energy and water conservation.

He said stronger public transport systems using electric vehicles could improve last-mile connectivity and help achieve net-zero emission goals.
