New Delhi
Farooq Abdullah, President of J&K’s ruling party the National Conference, a former Union Minister and a MP of three terms, is being trolled online for his highly controversial remarks about “Pakistan speaking for the Kashmiris (Read Muslims) by raising the Kashmir issue at global forums” and “intentions of government of India not good.”
Addressing workers of his party at Baramulla, he reportedly said, “Have the courage to fight or you will be wiped out. Indian government’s intention is not good. They are silent today because Pakistan is raising the Kashmir issue globally. Pakistan is protecting us, saving us.”
Though the former Chief Minister is known for his non-serious remarks but this one amounted to crossing the line. Ironically, the news surfaced on a day when Srinagar was seeing themost attended third Kashmir marathon where participants ran for 22 km. Many ruling party party leaders and government functionaries also joined the marathon.
People are trolling Abdullah on social media calling him a "traitor", a "Pakistan-supporter" and asking him to surrender his security cover that is given for protecting him against terrorists.
The BJP J&K called Abdullah a traitor:
Either you love the country you live in, or you live in the country you love, Mr. Farooq. And you, Mr. Farooq, deserve no respect. You are indeed a traitor of the highest order. #PakistanLoverFarooqAbdullah #PakistaniFarooqAbdullah https://t.co/0CPvxVrgxH

Kashmir-based social and political activist Sajid Yousuf Shah asked Abdullah not to whitewash Pakistan's bloody history:
Dr. Farooq Abdullah chose Baramulla for his pro-Pakistan remarks just two days after the anniversary of Pakistan’s 22nd October, 1947 invasion of J&K. This is the land of Maqbool Sherwani, who stood against the Invaders not a stage to whitewash Pakistan’s bloody history. @JKNC_
