A major fire erupted at a textile-related facility in the Kandla Special Economic Zone in Gujarat’s Kutch district on Saturday evening, prompting a swift emergency response.

The blaze broke out at a unit identified as Tex Polymer, reportedly involved in handling used clothing. The incident triggered panic in the surrounding area as thick smoke spread across the locality.

Multiple firefighting teams from KASEZ, the local municipal corporation, and the Deendayal Port Authority rushed to the site shortly after the fire was reported. Fire department officials said coordinated efforts helped prevent the situation from escalating into a major disaster.

According to authorities, at least four fire tenders were deployed, and the flames were eventually brought under control using sustained water operations. No immediate reports of casualties or significant damage to nearby facilities have been confirmed so far.

Officials also noted that a separate fire incident had been reported earlier at another clothing unit within the same industrial zone, raising concerns about safety measures in the area.
