Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new headquarters building of the Central Industrial Security Force in the national capital.

The new headquarters will be constructed within the CGO Complex, adjacent to the force’s existing headquarters building.

According to a senior official, the project will be developed on 0.66 acres of land at an estimated cost of Rs 75.78 crore and is expected to be completed by May 2028.

During the event, Kumar also inaugurated two newly constructed CISF buildings in Hyderabad and one in Sivaganga through video conferencing.

The CISF, with a strength of nearly two lakh personnel, is primarily responsible for securing critical infrastructure across sectors such as nuclear energy, aerospace, power and other strategic installations. The force also guards 73 civil airports across the country and provides security to several key government and industrial establishments.
