Four family members killed in car crash on expressway in Gujarat's Panchmahal

Four members of a family were killed and one person suffered grievous injuries after their speeding car jumped a divider on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway corridor in Panchmahal district on Monday, police said.

According to officials from Kalol Police Station, the driver lost control of the vehicle near Kalol. The car then crossed the divider and veered onto the opposite side of the highway.

Local residents rushed to the spot after the crash and alerted police. Rescue efforts were undertaken to pull out those trapped inside the vehicle.

Four people died on the spot, while one injured occupant was taken for treatment.

Police said the deceased were members of a family from Vadodara and were returning from Rajasthan when the accident occurred.

The victims were identified as Sajid Iqbal Khinji (55), Ilyas Iqbal Khinji (50), Ishaq Iqbal Khinji (48) and Rehan Azgar Khinji (35).
