Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully on Tuesday criticised the BJP-led Rajasthan government for failing to fulfil its promise of recruiting 10,000 candidates in the education department.

Gehlot said that despite repeated assurances, the government has neither issued an official notification nor conducted any examinations for the proposed vacancies. He described the delay as both administrative failure and an injustice to thousands of job-seeking youths.

According to him, frequent changes in recruitment schedules and unfulfilled commitments have eroded the trust of young people. He contrasted this with the previous Congress government, which he said had carried out recruitment drives in a transparent and timely manner, offering opportunities to the youth.

Gehlot also questioned the government on when it intends to deliver the promised jobs and how long aspirants will be left waiting.

Echoing similar concerns, Jully alleged that while the government had widely publicised recruitment plans through advertisements, there has been little progress on the ground. He said the promises now appear hollow, with no sign of either recruitment processes beginning or exams being scheduled.

Calling the situation a betrayal of aspiring candidates, Jully said the announcements seemed aimed at gaining publicity rather than delivering results. He added that the prolonged delay has left many young people in Rajasthan feeling frustrated and uncertain about their future, and urged the government to clearly state when it will honour its commitment.
