A woman from Maharashtra's Sindhudurg district, who had been missing for nearly two months, has been reunited with her family thanks to the combined efforts of a social organisation and the use of Google Search, representatives of the organisation said on Friday.
Pooja Bhagwan Gawas, a resident of Vajare village in Sindhudurg, went missing from her home in May. She was later found wandering in Sawantwadi town, following which the police shifted her to Sanvita Ashram, operated by Jeevan Anand Sanstha.
With only limited information available about her identity, Kisan Choure, a trustee of the organisation, began searching for her family using Google Search. He also sought assistance from local village authorities, which eventually led him to Vajare village.
After being shown her photograph, Gawas' relatives confirmed her identity. She was reunited with her family on Thursday.
