Heatwave conditions continued across Rajasthan on Friday, with temperatures crossing 40 degrees Celsius in most regions of the state. Sri Ganganagar recorded the highest maximum temperature at 44.5°C, according to the meteorological centre in Jaipur.

The weather department said dry conditions prevailed during the past 24 hours, while some areas also experienced warm nights. In many locations, daytime temperatures remained between 40°C and 42°C, which is near normal for late April.

Officials have forecast a further rise of 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in the coming days. Heatwave conditions are likely to continue at isolated places in western and north-eastern Rajasthan for the next two to three days.

In north-western parts of the state, temperatures may touch 44°C to 45°C during this period.
