After a brief spell of rain brought temporary relief from soaring temperatures, large parts of Rajasthan are expected to experience intense heat once again from Saturday, with temperatures in some regions likely to climb up to 45 degrees Celsius in the coming days, according to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre.

Officials said western parts of the state are set to witness the return of heatwave conditions as dry weather and rising daytime temperatures begin to dominate once again.

In southeastern Rajasthan, maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 44 and 45 degrees Celsius over the next few days, increasing discomfort across several districts.

The weather department also forecast localized thunderstorm activity over the weekend.

Parts of the Bikaner division, the Shekhawati region, Jaipur, and northern areas of the Bharatpur division may experience thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kilometres per hour.

Light rain or drizzle is also likely at isolated locations in these regions, officials said.

During the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Saturday, weather conditions across most parts of the state remained largely dry, although heatwave conditions and unusually warm nights were reported from several areas.
