A gesture of communal harmony has gained widespread appreciation after a Hindu businessman stepped forward to help repair a vandalised mosque in Telangana, reinforcing calls for peace, justice and mutual respect among communities.

The incident came to light in Jalalpur village of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, where unidentified individuals reported the incident.

Reports suggest that walls were damaged, windows were broken, washroom doors were destroyed, and the mosque’s sound system was tampered with. Empty beer bottles were also found inside the premises, while copies of the holy Qur’an were allegedly scattered around.

Members of the mosque committee expressed shock over the incident and said places of worship must always be respected. In response to the situation, local businessman Rajendra Agarwal, Managing Director of Ram Conductors, reached out to community representatives and offered financial help for restoration work.

Agarwal later visited the site, met mosque committee members and handed over a financial contribution for repairs, including rebuilding damaged structures and restoring essential facilities. He emphasised that acts of violence against any religious place are unacceptable and that society must stand together to protect peace and dignity.

Community leaders and local residents praised the initiative, describing it as a positive message of social harmony. Representatives from the Muslim community said the gesture reflects the region’s tradition of shared cultural values and unity.

Some community representatives also raised concerns regarding past disputes related to religious structures and worship practices in the area. They urged authorities to ensure a fair and transparent investigation into the vandalism case and to identify those responsible for the damage.

Local police have registered a case against unknown persons under multiple legal provisions related to trespass, damage to religious property and promoting enmity. Authorities have assured a thorough investigation into the matter.

As repair work begins, residents expressed hope that the incident would ultimately strengthen communal bonds rather than create divisions, with many calling for continued cooperation between communities to maintain peace and harmony in the region.
