The Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent returned to India on December 2 after the successful completion of the 8th edition of Exercise Garuda, a bilateral air exercise with the French Air and Space Force (FASF) at Air Base 118, Mont-de-Marsan, France. The exercise concluded on November 27.
The IAF participated with Su-30MKI fighters, IL-78 air-to-air refuelling aircraft, and C-17 Globemaster III transport planes. The training included joint mission planning, strike and escort missions, and familiarisation with each other’s operational procedures, enhancing interoperability.
The exercise, one of the largest international air engagements by the IAF this year, reaffirmed India-France strategic ties and provided operational insights to strengthen war-fighting capabilities and joint air operations.
