The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Thursday announced the 2026 results for Class 10 (ICSE) and Class 12 (ISC), with both exams recording pass percentages above 99.
The overall pass rate stood at 99.18 per cent for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and 99.13 per cent for the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations.
A total of 2,58,721 students appeared for the ICSE (Class 10) exams, of whom 2,56,590 cleared them, while 2,131 did not qualify. For the ISC (Class 12) exams, 1,03,316 candidates appeared, with 1,02,414 passing and 902 failing.
Girls outperformed boys in both categories. In ICSE, girls achieved a pass percentage of 99.46 per cent compared to 98.93 per cent for boys. In ISC, girls recorded a 99.48 per cent pass rate, while boys stood at 98.81 per cent.
Among different categories in ICSE, general category students registered a 99.26 per cent pass rate, followed by Other Backward Classes at 99.24 per cent, Scheduled Castes at 98.76 per cent and Scheduled Tribes at 98.07 per cent. In ISC, general category students recorded a 99.17 per cent pass rate, OBC candidates 99.12 per cent, Scheduled Tribes 98.84 per cent and Scheduled Castes 98.77 per cent.
The ICSE exams were conducted across 67 subjects, while ISC covered 45 subjects.
