J&K Police attaches drug peddler’s properties worth Rs 45 lakh in Katra

Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday attached immovable assets worth nearly Rs 45 lakh belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Katra area of Reasi district, officials said.

The action was carried out under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Jamad Ali, a resident of Kheri Paroh in Katra tehsil, police officials stated.

According to the police, the attached assets include two residential houses that were allegedly built using money earned through illegal narcotics trafficking.

Officials further said that Jamad Ali is currently lodged in the high-security Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu due to his repeated involvement in cases related to drug trafficking and narcotics offences.
