Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board has come to the rescue of the family of Adil Hussain Shah, the braveheart of the Pahalgam carnage, who was the only breadwinner of his family.

Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, on Thursday, handed over an appointment letter to the brother of Syed Adil Hussain Shah of Pahalgam, who died while fighting terrorists during a terror attack in the Baisaran area on April 22.

Andrabi said that the next of kin of Adil has been provided the job letter to honour the sacrifice. "His sacrifice will always be remembered," Andrabi said.

Adil ferried tourists on his pony from Pahalgam. On the fateful day, he was moving with tourists in Baisaran Valley when he confronted terrorists. He argued with a terrorist who was asking tourists to recite Quranic ayat - Kalma - and also tried to snatch his gun. The terrorist shot him dead.

Nazakat Ahmad, who received the appointment letter, expressed gratitude while praising his brother for sacrificing his life to save human lives.
