Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday filled out their SIR enumeration forms and appealed to eligible voters to complete the exercise within the stipulated time.

The enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state began on June 30 and will continue till July 29, during which booth-level officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits to distribute, collect and verify enumeration forms.

Gangwar submitted his enumeration form to booth-level officers at the Lok Bhawan.

"I urge all eligible citizens of the state that when BLOs come to your home with the enumeration forms, please fill them out immediately and provide them with your signature, so that the name of every eligible citizen can be included in the voter list," Gangwar posted on X.

Completing the exercise at his official residence on Kanke Road here, Soren said safeguarding the right to vote is an important responsibility of every citizen.

"I appeal to all eligible voters of Jharkhand to complete the SIR process within the stipulated time frame and ensure the verification of their details in the voter list," he said, according to an official statement.

The chief minister said every citizen’s democratic participation is the greatest strength of democracy.

"A clean and updated voter list is the foundation of a free, fair, and transparent electoral process," Soren said, urging voters to play a proactive role in the SIR drive.

He also called upon them to motivate their family members, neighbours, and other people in society to participate in the process and fill the SIR forms.

Gandey MLA and CM's wife Kalpana Soren also filled out her enumeration form on the occasion.

The draft electoral rolls will be published on August 5, and claims and objections over it will be accepted from that date till September 4.

Disposal of claims and objections will be held between August 5 and October 3. The final electoral rolls will be published on October 7.
