Khan Sir, the social media star followed by 13.2 million people on social media for his inimitable style of delivering online classes on general knowledge and current affairs, had jumped into the Bihar Panchayat elections. He entered not as a contestant but as a campaigner for a fellow social media star Vipin Kumar

Vipin Kumar, a YouTuber whose channel on Maths has three million subscribers, won from Salah panchayat in the Hajipur district. He has since been elected Sarpanch.

Khan Sir – his pseudonym – campaigned in his inimitable rustic style for Vipin Kumar. He held a roadshow and also campaigned door to door in the village asking people to vote fearlessly and use their right of vote to usher in development.

Unwittingly, Khan Sir ended crating another witty video that has since gone viral on the internet.

Seeking votes for Vipin, he said (in the video clip), "When a khassi (goat) is available for Rs 5,000, how will a human being be available for just Rs 1000. Is a human being so cheap? You must take the money; not one thousand but 5,000 and vote only for Vipin Kumar.”

His sarcasm was aimed at exposing the impression that contestants were bribing people to vote for them in the Panchayat elections.

He was seen moving around in a luxury car at the Salha Panchayat of Sahadei Buzurg in the Hajipur district of Bihar.

At the end of the viral video, 'Khan sir' is seen appealing to the people to be educated and understand their rights. He said, “Nobody (vote seekers) will ever do any favour to you; health, education, and all other amenities to you come from the Constitution. No one gives alms.”

The ongoing Bihar panchayat elections have generated a lot of heat and voters have made interesting choices favouring young, ambitious, educated over the considerations of religion, caste, and clout of the candidates.

The contest was so intense that at many places voters were served chicken meat with rice meals by the contestants while in other places they were served liquor that is otherwise banned in Bihar.

'Khan sir' friend Vipin sir is also a teacher. Besides his YouTube videos on maths, he also runs a coaching institute in Patna. He presented ‘Khan Sir’ as a person who is followed not only in India but even abroad.

Khan Sir asked people to pursue education. He even offered help to those facing problems. “Fight for your rights,” he said repeatedly.

'Khan Sir' is well known for teaching complex subjects with wit and in a simple way on YouTube. He has followers from across the world. His videos become smash hits within hours of being posted online.

He runs his classes under Khan GS research institute. Nobody knows his real name but Khan Sir uses an accent that makes him look like someone from Bihar. His enigma continues as people have done investigations to find out who he is.
