A comprehensive security review was carried out at the Shiv Khori Shrine in Reasi district to ensure the safety of pilgrims and strengthen existing arrangements, police said on Wednesday.
The inspection was led by Mukund Tibrewal, who assessed surveillance systems, crowd management measures and emergency response preparedness amid a steady flow of devotees.
Officials said the review also covered areas surrounding the shrine, along with inspections of several police installations, including the Domail Checkpoint, Special Police Post Ikhni and Jhandi Morh.
At Ikhni and Jhandi Morh, officers were instructed to maintain structured rosters for area domination exercises and long-range patrols. The SSP also emphasised the use of technology to improve patrolling systems and called for stronger coordination with local communities and Village Defence Guards, especially in remote and hilly regions.
The audit further examined infrastructure readiness, availability of equipment and preparedness for night operations.
During a visit to Police Station Ransoo, Tibrewal reviewed key sections such as the malkhana, record room, lock-up facilities and operational units. He stressed accurate documentation, systematic record management and proper handling of case property.
