Vinai Kumar Saxena on Tuesday paid tribute to fallen soldiers during his visit to the Hall of Fame, where he laid a wreath at the war memorial in honour of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
He was received by General Officer Commanding of 14 Corps, Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, during the visit.
The Lt Governor honoured the courage and sacrifice of soldiers who have defended the country’s borders under extreme and challenging conditions. He emphasised that their contributions must always be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
Expressing his sentiments, Saxena said the nation remains indebted to the martyrs and their families for safeguarding India’s freedom, dignity, and sovereignty.
He also noted that the Hall of Fame stands as a powerful tribute to the bravery of Indian soldiers, reflecting their unwavering commitment to the nation.
Praising the Indian Army, he highlighted the difficult conditions in which soldiers operate, including sub-zero temperatures and rugged terrain, calling their service an enduring example of dedication and patriotism.

During his visit, Saxena toured the museum at the memorial, which documents the Indian Army’s role in key military operations such as Operation Meghdoot and Operation Vijay, showcasing acts of bravery and sacrifice.
