New Delhi
Social media platforms erupted with jokes, memes and sarcastic posts after Raghav Chadha announced that he and six other Aam Aadmi Party MPs had quit the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
From “placement ho gayi” jokes to movie-style punchlines and “washing machine” memes, users turned the political development into one of the day’s biggest online talking points.
One widely shared meme used a classroom scene where a student proudly announces getting placed, with users joking that the MPs had landed their “dream package” in politics. Another viral post used the famous line “Yeh kis line mein aa gaye aap?” to mock leaders who had once criticised the BJP but were now joining it.
Several users circulated the familiar “washing machine” meme, portraying leaders entering with allegations and emerging politically “cleaned”. One meme joked, “Detergent bhi strong hai aur joining bonus bhi.”
Some compared the switch to a corporate employee resigning after years of waiting for promotion and then joining a rival company. One post read: “Notice period complete, laptop submitted, new ID card issued.”
Others described the move as the “best plot twist of the season”, pairing old speeches critical of the BJP with reaction clips showing shock and sudden acceptance. Some joked the leaders had merely “updated their political LinkedIn profile” for better career growth.
