Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday said the Centre’s Rozgar Mela initiative has provided large-scale employment opportunities to youth over the past four years.

Addressing a Rozgar Mela event in Jaipur, Vaishnaw said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had distributed appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly recruited candidates across various departments of the Union government.

“Today, PM Modi has distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 youth across the country for jobs in different departments of the Government of India. This large-scale initiative called Rozgar Mela has been running continuously for four years, and lakhs of young people have benefited from it,” Vaishnaw said.

He added that the initiative reflected the government’s continued emphasis on employment generation and youth empowerment through recruitment across multiple sectors.

During the nationwide event, Modi congratulated the newly recruited candidates and described them as key contributors to India’s development journey.

“Today, more than 51,000 youth have received appointment letters for government jobs. You are becoming responsible partners in the country’s progress,” the prime minister said while virtually addressing the appointees.

He noted that the selected candidates would take up responsibilities in sectors including railways, banking, defence, healthcare and education.

“You will play a crucial role in fulfilling the vision of a developed India in the years ahead,” Modi added.

The Rozgar Mela initiative is part of the Centre’s broader employment generation campaign aimed at strengthening public service delivery through recruitment in central ministries, departments and other government institutions.
