Bihar minister Dilip Jaiswal on Friday said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has long envisioned a developed Bihar and will continue to guide the state's progress, reiterating that Kumar’s decision to file nomination for the Rajya Sabha was his own.

“He has made efforts for his dream of a developed Bihar, and we will continue to see his support in how Bihar progresses,” Jaiswal said.

“The nomination for Rajya Sabha membership was filed by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar yesterday; this is his own decision,” he added.

Meanwhile, Union minister Ram Kripal Yadav termed the development an internal matter of Janata Dal (United), saying the chief minister’s decision remains paramount.

“This is an internal matter of the Janata Dal (United), and they will make the decision; those led by Nitish Kumar and his decision are paramount,” he said.

Taking a dig at the opposition, Yadav alleged that its credibility was declining. “The opposition is troubled because they are getting nothing. Every day, the opposition's credibility is eroding, so they are very distressed. The NDA is united, and all are working together to run the government,” he added.

Bihar politics saw a major development on Thursday when the 75-year-old chief minister, the state’s longest-serving leader, filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections and extended full support to the incoming Cabinet.
