The Indian Army in a warm gesture, presented sweets to Pakistan Army at Chilehana-Tithwal Crossing Point in Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector to extend best wishes to Pakistan on the new year displaying the will to maintain peace along the Line of Control, army sources said.

Over years, India has continuously endeavored to sweeten and strengthen the bilateral relations with Pakistan through goodwill gestures like this one across the spectrum to ensure peace and tranquility in the region

There has been peace along the Line of Control since the ceasefire agreement in February last year. The people have appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army to maintain peace in the villages along the Line of Control. This gesture is one of the many such efforts made towards achieving peace and development in J&K. These positive endeavors by the Indian Army will further the cause towards sustained peace along the Line of Control, the sources said.

Earlier on Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, Army personnel had greeted their Pakistani counterparts and exchanged sweets along the Line of Control (LoC) at Chilehana-Tithwal Crossing Point in Kupwara district.
