Every winter, Nazakat Ali of South Kashmir visits Chimiri, a town in Chhattisgarh, to sell winter clothing, including shawls, stoles and jackets.
This year, as winter has almost set in Kashmir, Nazakat came to Chimiri with his shawls and other stuff. However, this time he was not just a seller but a hero for the locals who welcomed him with a burst of firecrackers, garlanding him and merry-making.
Nazakat had rescued 11children of four families as the terrorists were raining bullets on tourists and probably hunting for more. He carried the children on his back to a safer place by running like hell.
Among those he rescued were the children of local BJP leader Amit Agarwal.
This time, when Nazakat came to Chimri, Amit Agarwal led the locals in giving him a warm welcome.
Nazakat said he was touched by the gesture. “I am so happy to be back and see Lucky Bhaiya, Raju Bhaiya, Happy bahiya,Titu bhaiya once again. I was so happy to reunite with them. They are special to me; We are brothers and have even played cricket together,” he said in a video clip posted on X.
Nazakat said he called one Lucky Bhaiya and conveyed to him about his return to Chimri.

On April 22, when the Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam became the target of terrorists, four friends from Chirmiri — Kuldeep Sthaphak, Shivansh Jain, Happy Badhawan, and Arvind Agarwal — and their families were busy enjoying the cool climes and beauty of this remote Valley when they heard the booming of terrorists' guns.
Chaos followed, and the tourists ran helter-skelter; many found they were trapped on both sides of the road. Nobody was sure which way would take them out of a possible encounter with the killers when Nazakat Ali, a local trader, came to their rescue.
Realising the seriousness of the situation, he took charge and guided the tourists to a safe place.

While everyone was struggling to save their lives, Nazakat Ali showed patience, presence of mind, and wisdom. He removed all 11 tourists one by one from the road and took them safely to the lodge. Not only this but immediately after the attack, he rescued the tourists to a hotel with the help of the army.
