The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Government Assurances, headed by Rajya Sabha MP M Thambidurai, is scheduled to meet on Friday at the Parliament House Annexe Extension Building to discuss issues linked to the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation controversy.
The meeting, set to begin at 11 am, will include interactions with senior officials from the education and health ministries, along with representatives from key agencies involved in the investigation and administration of national examinations.
According to official sources, the committee will hear the views of the Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, as well as the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The panel is also expected to interact with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Chairman of the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the CBI Director.
The meeting comes amid growing concerns over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination process and demands for accountability from various quarters.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday arrested two more people in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, taking the total number of arrests in the matter to 13.
According to the agency, one of the accused, Dr Manoj Shirure from Latur, allegedly helped three students obtain leaked Chemistry questions through another accused, PV Kulkarni. Among the students was reportedly the son of a coaching centre owner already under investigation.
The second accused, Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, is a Physics faculty member at the Dr Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy in Pune. Investigators alleged that he procured leaked Physics questions from another arrested accused, Manisha Havaldar.
The CBI said the investigation is continuing to uncover the broader network and conspiracy behind the leak.
The agency stated that it has conducted searches at 49 locations across the country and seized several documents, laptops and mobile phones as part of the probe. Officials said the seized materials are currently being examined in detail.
