Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday virtually handed over appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly recruited candidates under the Centre’s ‘Rozgar Mela’ initiative, reaffirming the government’s focus on employment generation and youth empowerment.
With the latest round of recruitment, nearly 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through 18 editions of the Rozgar Mela organised across the country since the programme began.
Addressing the event, Modi described the occasion as significant for thousands of young people entering public service.
“More than 51,000 youths have received government job appointment letters today. They are becoming important partners in the nation’s development journey,” the prime minister said.
He noted that the recruits would assume responsibilities in sectors such as railways, banking, defence, healthcare and education, contributing to India’s long-term development goals.
“In the coming years, all of you will play a key role in realising the vision of a developed India. I congratulate you and your families on this achievement,” Modi said.
The prime minister also stressed the growing global recognition of India’s youth and technological advancements.
“The world today is eager to participate in India’s growth story,” he said, adding that the country’s young population was accelerating the march towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’.
Calling the Rozgar Mela a reflection of the government’s commitment to empowering the youth, Modi said the initiative was aimed at creating new employment opportunities on a large scale.
The recruitment drive was conducted simultaneously at 47 locations across India.

According to officials, the selected candidates will join various ministries and departments, including railways, home affairs, health and family welfare, financial services and higher education, among others.
