Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters on Tuesday as Nitin Nabin prepared to formally assume charge as the party’s national president.

The Prime Minister was welcomed at the BJP office by Nitin Nabin, who had been serving as the party’s national working president, along with Union Minister J P Nadda, the outgoing BJP national president.

The election schedule, along with the electoral roll, was announced on January 16. As per the schedule, nominations were filed on January 19 between 2 pm and 4 pm.

According to party leaders, 37 sets of nomination papers were submitted in support of Nitin Nabin’s candidature for the post of national president. Senior leaders, including Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, were among those who proposed his name.
