Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his congratulations to Bihar Cabinet Minister Nitin Nabin following his appointment as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s new National Working President.

The decision was taken by the BJP Parliamentary Board, with Nabin set to take over from Union Minister JP Nadda, who has been leading the party as its National President since January 2020.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi praised Nabin’s organisational abilities and dedication to the party. Describing him as a committed and dynamic worker, the Prime Minister highlighted his extensive experience in both organisational roles and public office.

Modi said Nabin has built an impressive record through multiple terms as an MLA and as a minister in the Bihar government, consistently working to address public aspirations. He also noted Nabin’s reputation for humility and a grounded approach to leadership, expressing confidence that his enthusiasm and commitment would further strengthen the BJP in the coming years.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also conveyed his best wishes to Nabin on his new responsibility. In his message on X, Singh described him as a young and energetic leader from Bihar, commending his diligence and creative thinking. Singh said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Nabin would play a key role in taking the party to greater heights.

A five-time legislator and currently Bihar’s Road Construction Minister, Nitin Nabin is the son of senior BJP leader Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha. Despite being considered a relatively young face in the party, he brings substantial administrative experience, having served in various ministerial capacities in the state government.

Over the years, Nabin has handled important portfolios including Road Construction, Urban Development and Housing, and the Law Department in Bihar. His organisational journey within the BJP began in 2008, when he became a member of the National Executive Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha and co-in-charge of its youth wing.

In 2019, he was entrusted with election responsibilities in Sikkim and was subsequently appointed as the BJP’s organisation in-charge for the state.
