Congress MPs Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday offered prayers at the revered Maa Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.

Priyanka Gandhi, who arrived in the city earlier in the day, visited the temple and sought blessings. “I sought the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, and I am feeling very good after offering prayers at the temple,” she said.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, A Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister of Telangana, met Priyanka Gandhi in New Delhi following the declaration of the official results of the state’s municipal elections.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed the election outcome in detail. Priyanka Gandhi congratulated Revanth Reddy on the Congress party’s strong performance in the civic polls and expressed happiness over the results. The Chief Minister said the verdict reflected public satisfaction with the state government’s welfare and development initiatives.

In a post on X, Revanth Reddy said the people had given the Congress a decisive mandate as they were pleased with the implementation of welfare and development programmes by his government.

The recent municipal elections in Telangana delivered a significant political signal, with the ruling Congress registering a strong performance across several municipalities and municipal corporations. The results are being widely seen as an endorsement of the party’s governance approach, particularly in urban areas.
