Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria visited the national capital on Wednesday, engaging in a series of high-level meetings with key Union Ministers, including Nitin Gadkari, Manohar Lal Khattar, and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The discussions spanned a broad spectrum of issues concerning the development and welfare of Punjab and Chandigarh, reflecting the administration’s focus on strengthening collaboration between the Centre, the state government, and the union territory.

During these meetings, Governor Kataria underscored the importance of sustainable and inclusive development, stressing the need for enhancing civic amenities and ensuring the timely execution of both ongoing and proposed projects. Key points of discussion included improvements in urban planning, modernisation of infrastructure, better road connectivity, and public welfare initiatives aimed at benefiting the residents of the region. The Governor also highlighted the significance of coordinated efforts among various administrative bodies to accelerate project implementation and enhance the quality of life for the citizens.

In addition to policy discussions, the Governor sought support for strategic development plans that could help Punjab and Chandigarh emerge as models of modern urban governance. Governor Kataria was warmly received at Parliament by Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu and Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, reflecting the cordial relations and cooperative spirit between the state administration and the central leadership. The visit marks a concerted effort by the Punjab administration to engage with the central government on key developmental priorities and ensure that the region’s projects and initiatives receive the necessary support and attention.
