Rubaiya Sayeed, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Late Mufti Mohammed Sayeed has identified Yasin Malik as one of her abductors along with three others.

Rubaiya appeared before a special CBI court on Friday in the case related to her abduction in 1989.

Yasin Malik, chief of the banned Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front is currently serving life imprisonment in Delhi’s Tihar jail in a terror funding case.

Rubaiya Saeed was abducted on December 8, 1989, just 500 meters from her home in Srinagar while returning from Lal Ded Hospital where she was doing her internship.

She was released in exchange for five militants lodged in different jails.

Mufti Mohammed Sayeed was the Home Minister in the VP Singh cabinet at the time of Rubaiya’s abduction.

Rubaiya appeared before the court as a prosecution witness in the case in which charges were framed in January 2022, more than 30 years after her abduction.
