Madhya Pradesh Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput on Wednesday assured that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in the state and urged citizens to ignore rumours.

He said fuel supplies remain steady, with depots continuing to dispatch adequate quantities across Madhya Pradesh. The minister also appealed to people not to indulge in panic buying or hoarding.

Rajput acknowledged that reports of long queues at petrol pumps in some districts were triggered by misinformation. However, oil companies have confirmed that stock levels are sufficient and there has been no hike in fuel prices.

He added that the situation is being closely monitored by the state control room in Bhopal as well as local authorities.

The clarification comes amid concerns linked to the ongoing West Asia conflict, with state-run oil companies reiterating that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel or LPG anywhere in the country and advising the public against panic-driven purchases.
