Two persons, including a driver, were seriously injured after a tipper truck skidded off the road in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday, police said.
The injured were identified as Ashwini Kumar, the driver of the vehicle, and Ajay Kumar.
According to police, the accident occurred when the truck was travelling from Palahi to Nadaun. Ashwini Kumar allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to fall off the side of the Sujanpur-Nadaun road.
Police from Sujanpur Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and launched a rescue operation. The front portion of the truck was badly damaged and both occupants were trapped inside the vehicle.
Rescuers had to cut open the front section of the truck to pull out the driver, while local residents also assisted in the rescue efforts.
Both injured persons were taken to Sujanpur Hospital for first aid. Later, Ashwini Kumar was referred to Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College in Hamirpur for advanced treatment, while Ajay Kumar is currently undergoing treatment at Sujanpur hospital.

Police said a case has been registered and further investigation into the accident is underway.
