Ranchi
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Friday inaugurated an advanced Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Ranchi, aiming to strengthen Aadhaar-related services in Jharkhand’s capital and nearby areas.
Speaking at the event, Seth said initiatives like the new centre help improve transparency, efficiency and ease of access in the delivery of public services.
He also urged parents to ensure that their children complete the mandatory biometric updates at the ages of five and fifteen. According to him, timely updates would help students access government benefits such as scholarships and avoid difficulties during registration for competitive and entrance examinations.
Mahua Maji, Rajya Sabha MP, who was present at the inauguration, called upon schools to actively assist in reducing the backlog of mandatory biometric updates under the campaign run by the Unique Identification Authority of India.
Currently, Aadhaar Seva Kendras in Jharkhand are operational in three districts — Ranchi, Dhanbad and East Singhbhum.
