Actor Kajol has opened up about her personal journey as a mother, reflecting on the emotional and often challenging years of raising her daughter Nysa Devgan during her teenage phase.

In a recent conversation with YouTuber and host Lilly Singh, Kajol spoke candidly about the evolving bond with her daughter, sharing that the early teenage years were marked by frequent conflicts and emotional ups and downs. She described it as a phase where both mother and daughter struggled to understand each other, especially during Nysa’s early adolescence.

According to Kajol, those initial years were difficult, with differences in perspective often leading to misunderstandings. However, she gradually shifted her approach, choosing patience and communication over confrontation. The actor shared that she focused on listening more and allowing her daughter the space to express herself, which eventually helped strengthen their relationship over time.

Kajol revealed that it took nearly three years for their dynamic to settle into a more understanding and open connection. What once felt like constant disagreements slowly transformed into meaningful conversations, built on trust and emotional support. She described listening as the most important lesson she learned as a parent.

Reflecting on parenting two Gen Z children, Kajol noted that her son and daughter process information differently, shaped by their individual personalities and experiences. She also spoke about the broader challenges faced by today’s generation, saying they are often overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information available to them.

During the interaction, Kajol also touched upon generational differences, highlighting how her own upbringing in the pre-digital era shaped adaptability and independence. She remarked that growing up without constant access to information forced her generation to form their own perspectives, unlike today’s youth who are exposed to an overload of opinions and content.

Despite the challenges, Kajol expressed pride in how far her relationship with Nysa has come, emphasizing that mutual understanding and patience have been key to building a strong mother-daughter bond.
