On the final day of competition, Indian players won 4 gold medals, 1 silver and a bronze to cap off a very successful campaign at this multi-event games.

The gold rush on Monday started with ace shuttler PV Sindhu demolishing Michelle Li of Canada in straight sets, 21-15, 21-13. This was Sindhu’s first gold at the CWG after her bronze and silver in 2014 and 2018.

Next on court was Lakshya Sen in the men’s singles final. He defeated Malaysia’s Ng Tze Yong in a hard-fought three-set thriller, 19-21, 21-9, 21-16.

The doubles pair of Satwik Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made it three in a row for India winning the men’s doubles final against the English pair of Sean Vendy and Ben Lane 21-15, 21-13.

While the shuttlers were cornering glory, India’s TT stars were not too far behind. First, Gnansekharan beat Paul Drinkhall of England 4-3, followed by Achanta Sharat Kamal winning the gold medal match against Liam Pitchford 4-1. Achanta won 4 medals including 3 golds in this edition of the games.

The Indian hockey team ended their campaign with a silver medal losing to Australia 7-0.

India finished fourth in the medals tally with 61 medals including 22 golds, 16 silver and 23 bronze.
