The World Championship of Legends (WCL) is set to broaden its global footprint with the inclusion of a Bangladesh Champions team for its third season, scheduled to take place later this year.

Announcing the development, the league said the addition of the new franchise marks another step in its growing international presence ahead of WCL 2026.

The tournament has already featured several iconic cricketers such as Yuvraj Singh, AB de Villiers, Brett Lee, Moeen Ali, Mohammad Hafeez and Chris Gayle, among others who have left a lasting mark on the sport.

With Bangladesh Champions joining the competition, the upcoming season is expected to bring heightened competition, stronger national representation, and exciting matchups on an international stage.

Harshit Tomar, Founder and CEO of WCL, said the move responds to long-standing demand from fans. He noted that Bangladesh has always had a deeply passionate cricket following, and the introduction of a dedicated team is intended to celebrate that enthusiasm.

Yunus Hasan, Director at JCUK Sports Ltd representing the Bangladesh Champions, described the development as a landmark moment for fans both in Bangladesh and among the global diaspora. He added that the initiative aims to strengthen connections between cricket-loving communities across countries while building a competitive and inspiring franchise.

Veteran cricketer Mahmudullah also expressed pride in being associated with the new team, calling it a special opportunity to represent Bangladesh on a global platform alongside some of the game’s biggest names.
