Eight civilians, including women and children, were injured in alleged cross-border shelling by Afghan Taliban forces in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, officials said on Thursday.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night in Angoor Adda, a border area in South Waziristan, where shells struck residential houses, causing injuries and damage to multiple structures.
Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan said eight people were wounded in the attack, which affected civilian homes in the region.
Medical officer Dr Ashfaq confirmed that the injured were first taken to a nearby hospital for initial treatment and later referred to facilities in Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar for further medical care.
