Nepal’s Gen-Z, who led street protests to enforce regime change in their country, have picked Sushila Karki, former chief justice of Nepal, as the interim Prime Minister.

The consensus on her name was arrived at during the four-hour virtual meet between the Army and the groups of Gen-Z protestors following widespread arson, mayhem, and the deaths of 25 persons in police firing.

The KP Sharma Oli government had fallen and most of its ministers and senior authorities are reported ot have fled the country.

Karki, 73, is the only woman Chief Justice of Nepal.

She is educated at Banaras Hindu University. Speaking to the Indian media, Karki said, "Indians and Nepalese are not bound only by Governments; people share good relations. I greet Modi Ji with respect. "I have a good impression of Modi Ji. Indians treat me as a sister."

However, she said, though the Nepalese Army had brought the situation under control, her immediate concern is maintaining law and order in her country.

Speaking with one television channel, Karki said, “Namaskar to Modiji; He is a good leader".

Assuring the safety of Indians in Nepal, Karki said, "Our relations with India aren't new. What the government is in Nepal, their relations with the Nepal Govt is different. But the relations between Indians and Nepalis are special... We cry when our friends in India are hurt. India has always helped Nepal."

She said she was generally “very much impressed” with Indian leaders. “We consider them as our own brothers and sisters.”

She recalled her days at the Banaras Hindu University, where she did her master's degree. “I still remember my teachers and friends. I still remember the river Ganga. Beside the Ganga, there was a hostel. And at night in the summer, we would sleep on the (terrace),” she said.

She spoke in Hindi, too, “I am a citizen of Biratnagar, near the border of India. Maybe from my house (India) is only 25 miles.” She said she went regularly to the market at the border.

Peace has started returning to Nepal after three days of massive protests, firing by the police, and protesters burning down the Parliament building, the Supreme Court, homes of politicians, and luxury hotels.

Gen Z is posting images on social media to show the other side of their agitation as is seen in the following video:
