Saudi Arabia on Thursday reported that a drone struck the SAMREF oil refinery in the port city of Yanbu along the Red Sea coast.
According to the Saudi Defence Ministry, an assessment of the damage is currently underway, though no further details have been disclosed.
The attack follows a series of drone strikes targeting oil facilities in Kuwait, as well as overnight attacks on natural gas sites in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, contributing to a surge in global energy prices.

The escalation comes amid rising tensions involving Iran, which is reportedly retaliating after an Israeli strike on its South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf, a resource it shares with Qatar.
